Positive transformation

We know that there is no such thing as a one size fits all answer to weight management and health. At Noi Clinic we tailor individualised programs using a three pronged approach:

Medical

The first step to weight management is understanding the physiological causes behind why we are the weight that we are.

Hint: it’s not your fault!

It is only with this understanding that we can develop a tailored program to address your individual goals.

Diet

Is it true that “you are what you eat”?

We know it is not that simple.

But we also know that the food we eat impacts our weight, as well as our physical and mental health.

Caroline gives expert nutritional advice to address individual fat loss goals without ‘dieting’, while also helping to manage hunger, improve satiety, help control cravings and help improve health.

Psychology

Our ultimate goal is to help people achieve the best health outcomes by normalising their relationship with foods of all types.

Our psychologist, Lareena, can help with mindless eating, comfort eating, and eating due to boredom. She can help prevent behaviours such as self sabotage and help you prioritise your self care.

More intensive psychological intervention can help you overcome disordered eating such as binge eating.

Our collaborative approach

Whilst our practitioners can be seen individually, our clinic has the benefit of three weight management specialists working together to set you up for long term success.

Starting your journey at Noi Clinic involves a one-hour appointment with our Doctor, Rosemary Atkinson. She will do an assessment as to what medical, psychological and lifestyle factors are negatively impacting your weight and health. Rosie will then determine whether further testing (bloods, imaging) is advisable and discuss these with you.

We then recommend that you see our Dietitian Caroline Shannon and Psychologist, Lareena Brown.

The team, with your permission, will then meet and develop an individualised plan for your ongoing care.

Pricing

The cost of an initial consultation with Dr Rosemary Atkinson is $355.

The Medicare rebate with a valid Medicare card is (at minimum) $191.20.

How can I access rebates from Medicare for visits with the Dietitian and Psychologist?

Rebates are available with a number of plans accessed through your GP subject to your eligibility.

GP Management Plan: allows for 5 visits to an allied health practitioner (in this case our dietitian) in a calendar year. The rebate is $58.30 per visit.

Mental Health Care Plan: allows for up to 20 visits to a psychologist per calendar year. The rebate is $137.05 per visit.

Eating Disorder Management Plan: allows for up to 20 visits to a dietitian and 40 visits to a psychologist per calendar year at the rebate of $58.30 per visit for the dietitian and $137.05 for psychologist.

The Medicare Safety Net is available to all Medicare Card holders. This is an initiative to reduce out of pocket costs for Australians to access health services. It is important that you register for this as it will not apply automatically.

If you are an individual or registered as a family, this means that once you reach $2249.80 in out of pocket expenses in a calendar year, 80% of out of pocket costs for seeing medical professionals as well as allied health (covered by the above plans) is covered by Medicare.

If you are a concession card holder OR eligible for Family Tax Benefit A, the safety net threshold is $717.90.

Please contact your GP or Noi Clinic for further details.

Why it works

We have all been told the answer to weight loss is calories in and calories out.

It’s that simple right?

Then why doesn’t it work?

The Noi Clinic Team use the latest evidence to show you why weight loss is not this simple. We help you to succeed where fad diets have failed.

MEDICAL ADVICE

Starting the journey at Noi Clinic involves a consultation with Dr Rosemary Atkinson who will perform a complete medical assessment. This appointment will focus on the story of weight gain, your health concerns and your goals.

As a part of this assessment, we will discuss your current and past health, medications, medical issues in your family and factors which may be helping on hindering your general physical or mental health.

Dr Rosie will determine if you would benefit from any blood tests or imaging and will arrange this for you.

She will consider any medical conditions, underlying intolerances, allergies and factor in your individual goals.

Caroline has extensive experience in examining pathology results to ensure you are getting the important vitamins and minerals needed for a general health.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ADVICE

Psychological factors may hold an individual back from living their best life. This may be struggles from the past such as trauma, anxiety, eating disorders or depression. Lareena will work with you to transform your approach to food and nourishment, helping to improve your mindset around your weight and develop strategies for all the reasons we eat, other than for hunger.
